The Composer District community is one of the most popular neighborhoods located on the ocean side of the 5 freeway. There area is well known for it's large two story homes that offer a very close proximity to the beach and fabulous ocean views. A music publisher turned land developer with a dream to create an artist colony, Victor Kremer named the winding streets is this area. Mozart, Chopin, Rossini, Gershwin, Verdi, and Vivaldi all made the list. Beethoven, curiously, is not on the map, though Brahms Road and Bach Street are here. Haydn Drive and Liszt Avenue intersect a couple blocks west of Rubenstein Avenue. And, there is a dog park at the foot of Schubert Path.
This community dates back to 1947 and has continued to develop over the years, with many new construction properties being built. This is a great area located close to nearby restaurants, boutique retail stores, parks and world class surfing at beautiful San Elijo State Beach
